This summer has seen many of our products used in gardens that have received gold at the UK’s top Flower Shows. Our blog will guide you through how these gardens used decorative aggregates to fantastic effect!

The Mental Health garden featuring Cotswold Cobbles and Ebony Black Cobbles in Gabion baskets.

Harrogate Flower Show

Harrogate Flower show ran from the 25th to 28th April 2019 and we provided a large range of our decorative aggregates. These included our Ebony Black Pebbles and Cobbles along with our Duck Egg Pebbles and Cotswold Cobbles into the Gold Medal winning Mental Health Garden.

This garden was designed by Jo Manfedi-Hamer Garden Design to raise awareness of Mental Health Issues. It featured our Gabion Baskets which housed the Ebony Black and Cotswold Cobbles. Our Ebony Black and Duck Egg Pebbles decorated the borders and planting.

Malvern Spring Festival

The RHS Malvern Spring Festival took place from the 9th to 12th of May. We we were thrilled to see our Duck Egg Pebbles 15-30mm used in the Gold Medal winning Defiance Garden.

Designed by Sara Edwards, this urban space represented a balcony in London whose owner wanted to recreate the lush green tropics of Brazil.

Our rounded Duck Egg Pebbles were used to soften the effect of the rectangular grey paving and planters while still complementing the colour scheme. This garden was also awarded Best Green Living Space Garden.

Chelsea Flower Show

The RHS Chelsea Flower Show took place between the 21st and 25th May. We donated our Duck Egg Range as well as our Nordic Mixed Quartz to The Montessori Centenary Children’s garden.

It received a gold medal and was designed by Jody Lidgard as a fantastic space for children to engage with the natural world and learn in a fun and colourful environment.

Our Duck Egg range comprises of our Duck Egg Pebbles 15-30mm, Duck Egg Pebbles 30-60mm and Duck Egg Cobbles 60-120mm. These products were chosen to form the base of the garden. This was because the various sizes added more texture and decoration to the edges of the space. The Nordic Mixed Quartz perfectly complemented the colour tones of the Duck Egg products.

Our Duck Egg Pebbles 15-30mm were also used within the gabion walling that separates the garden into different interactive zones. These walls were designed to house small insects and our stone chosen specifically for its shape and colouring.

Chatsworth Flower Show

The RHS Chatsworth Flower Show ran from the 5th to the 9th of June. Our stone featured in the Wedgwood Garden that broke RHS records. This garden were really going for gold, as not only did it win a Gold but was also awarded Best In Show, Best Construction as well as the People’s Choice Award. No garden in RHS history has been awarded all 4 accolades.

Designed by Jamie Butterworth, the garden used our Goldpath Self-Binding Gravel throughout. This product complemented the other hard landscaping and provided a neutral base that enabled the planting to really pop.

The Wedgwood Garden

We were fortunate enough to also see our products used in several other gardens that received Silver Guilt and Silver Medals.
